Activations
When we have a new product, product range, specific area of focus (such as our GF Smith Services or sustainability features for example) we bring an ‘activation’ to the market. This is a full 360 campaign that will be supported by a campaign toolkit that will include key messages (for the sales team and social media teams to build on), key imagery and overall approach. Imagery must feature the campaign images, not just the piece of print we produce.
Everything we bring to market needs to be purposeful, useful, playful and accessible as well as desirable. We always endeavor to make use of our GF Smith Servies in each activation as well as sustainable materials and production methods.
Our activations are no longer:
• Called ‘mailers’ or promos
• Overindulgent and covered in ink so that the market can’t see our papers
• Just photos of Swatch books

The Carabiner
The GF Smith Carabiner introduces the GF Smith Colorplan Collection to our audiences. It is designed to be a playful and hyper useful paper specification tool. The bespoke carabiner can be clipped to bags, belts, hung on shelves etc. The paper leaves can be easily taken off of the clip, which allows for easy comparison of colours, weights and products. Each page has a perforation, which also allows for ease of comparison.

The Smile Book
The Smile Book introduces the GF Smith Colorplan collection to the market. For the first time we have expanded our range to include the core GF Smith Colorplan colours, GF Smith Colorplan 50/50 and GF Smith Colorplan Extracted.
The Smile Book activation is to our knowledge, a paper engineering first. It is the first time that this type of lay flat binding has been combined with ram punching.
The book is a limited edition run designed to be a celebration of the rebrand. It is designed to sit on shelves on the curved edge, opened up as a semi-sphere or a full sphere

Ream wraps
Our ream wraps feature our omnidirectional logos. Please position the address label in an area of the wrap where the logo will be looking towards it. The ream wrap is designed on nine grid which means that there are nine points to add the address label.

Stationery: letterheads, comp slips and business cards
Our stationery is printed on GF Smith Extracted Dusk and Chalk. On our letterheads we breakdown the product specifications on the smile and include the B Corps logo.
• We have printed GF Smith letterheads and there are both Word template letterheads available for both GF Smith and RK Burt in the brand assets folder.
• Our stationery suite includes business cards for both GF Smith and RK Burt as well as compliments slips for both businesses.

Keynote / Powerpoint
We have created Keynote and PowerPoint presentation templates for you to use.
These include a range of page types:
• Front covers in multiple colour ways
• Alternative image pages
• Text pages
• Data pages
• Text and image pages
Please use these templates to create any presentations. These templates will be available on the brand assets folder from the May 2025.

Collaborations & partnerships
We are very careful about the company we keep. Any partnership we have is a reflection of who we are as a business. Partnerships must support the ‘why GF Smith’ feature of the positioning and reinforce one or more of the following:
• Sustainability and climate • Hull and the local community
• The creative community especially those in deprived areas around the world
• Our internal culture?

We have created a new internal wayfinding system that is made up of hanging banners and signage made from GF Smith Colorflute. Where possible we use our manifesto and smiling sentences to bring our ethos into our space. to be approved and discussed with Ben Watkinson.
