Digital book earmarked for Design award

Digital (2012) designed by Sea
GFSmith Digital Print sample book has been nominated for an award in the Graphics category of the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year 2012.
Dubbed 'the Oscars of the design world’, these international awards showcase the most innovative and progressive design work in all creative fields.
The nominated book, designed by SEA and written by Regard, promotes GFSmith's digital compatible papers. The books are printed digitally, naturally, but to show off the special qualities of the process, every single slipcover in the 10,000 run is a unique edition. The varying element is the imagery; each cover features an abstract digital painting, altered in form and colour by a generative process. These 'Digital Sculptures', created by digital artists Field, were inspired by macro details of paper fibres.
The piece, along with all of the nominated work, will be on show at the Design Museum from 8th February, and the winners will be revealed at an awards event on 24th April.
