Beauty in the Making 5 x 8: 815 Agency
Nicola Read, founder of the 815 Agency, discusses her practice and how she has developed the agency over the past few years.
The 815 Agency seeks to explore and delight in architecture, playfulness and the city. The agency was set up in 2010 by Nicola Read. Nicola completed her architecture training at the University of Cambridge and London Met and currently teaches an undergraduate and Diploma studio at Kingston University.
She has experience designing projects from the scale of the room to the scale of the city, having worked for Hopkins Architects, DRDH and Florian Beigel's ARU on the Saemangeum Island City project, which featured in the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennial.
This talk was part of a week-long series of talks curated by It's Nice That. It was commissioned by GFSmith for their Beauty in the Making exhibition in April 2012. The 5x8 series featured five talks, all eight minutes long, every evening throughout the week-long exhibition.
